Are you Frustrated by Having to Prove Yourself Every Day?

Seth Goden posted this picture of Kelly Ripa on his blog in a post entitled “Warts and All.

“She doesn’t really look like this,” He commented. “Especially in the morning or after a long plane flight. And yet we’re bombarded by photos of one perfect celebrity after another . . . enough to buy into the fantasy that they’re all perfect.”

Kim Kardashian, who’s spoken of her laser hair removal sessions and intense gym workouts, frequently comments on how hard she works on her physical image.

Needless to say, celebrities aren’t perfect. Below is a picture of Kate Moss on an off day.

“The danger in celebrity worship is that it can persuade you to not bother trying,” says Seth.  To paraphrase Seth:  After all, the thinking goes, my look, my image, my skin, my clothing, each is so far from perfect, so why should I bother?

Our clients have shown us time and again that they bother to put in the effort because they care.

Being completely hair-free, or having ageless skin, is not a cure-all for your life’s beauty problems. These services are several of many steps you regularly take to make yourself look and feel confident and beautiful.

The important point is: What we do over the long run, step by step, day by day, is what matters. A single facial, or a single gym-workout, or a single manicure, is not the answer. Day by day we’re trying to make improvements; in quality of life, in efficiency, in confidence, in health and in beauty. And that’s what counts.

Kim Kardashian, who’s spoken of her laser hair removal sessions and intense gym workouts, frequently comments on how hard she works on her physical image. “I used to be really nervous doing bikini shoots but I honestly feel like now I am so much more confident and comfortable in my skin after losing a little weight and most importantly, toning up.” And it shows:

Kim regularly explores and discusses her beauty development plans as part of her personal brand. Why not put in the effort on your personal brand? Why not be fearless in discussing with your social networks your strategies and goals for self-improvement? Let people know your goals and your efforts, and watch how they support you.

So, what type of person are you? Do you believe that great looking people came that way “out of the box”? Or, do you work hard to prove yourself every single day?

Seth suggests “Go ahead, be like Kelly, but cut yourself some slack along the way.” We’ll also add, why not be like Kim?
