Laser Gal on Microdermabrasion: Have You Tried It?

So, first, I wanna know… What’s wrong with saying “y’all”?? Really. Why is everyone emailing to ask why I always say y’all? I don’t know, Y’ALL, I just say it.
Ok, now that I got that out of the way… I wanted to blog about this cool thing I tried yesterday at Assara. On suggestion of my laser spesh (alright, ya’ll, that’s short for “specialist”), I’ve been trying new treatments to get my skin looking younger and smoother.
Yesterday I tried microdermabrasion, (most people call it “microderm”). They say it’ll give you beautiful skin . . . To do the microdermabrasion treatment, your specialist takes this diamond tip wand and waves it gently over your face. She touches the skin on your face in a motion like sweeping. It feels sort of like a mini vacuum; it’s not painful, quite an interesting tickling feeling actually. Liz has a steady hand . . . . thank god because she’s actually removing the top surface of dead skin! That’s where all the sun-damage, scars and dark spots lurk.
I have to admit I didn’t really know what to expect. What would I look like when I left Assara? How would my skin feel?
So my face was a little “red,” like I just came from running a mile or something and I felt like I looked a little blotchy. But I didn’t feel like the skin was tender or damaged… This morning I saw the results! My skin felt like a baby’s bottom, soft and super smooth. My moisturizer and foundation was gliding on very nicely. And, seeing myself in the mirror after my daily morning routine, I felt like a million bucks. As I walked to work this morning, a construction worker stopped what he was doing to yell out “LOOKING GOOD CUPCAKE!” LOL!!
I got a package of 4 microderm sessions, so this is just the beginning… I’ll blog some more soon,
I’m off to Miami this weekend! (Thanks to laser hair removal I don’t have ANY last minute plucking or waxing to do!)
