Hi Y’all,
For the last couple of years it seems that every shirtless guy on TV has a hairless chest and smooth under arms. TV is nowhere near reality (except for a few people), but lots of guys I know, here in New York, NY, have started to ponder the smooth life.
In the past, male body grooming was only for professional athletes like swimmers and cyclists (who shaved to reduce drag) or bodybuilders (who shaved to emphasize the cuts in their muscles). And many gay men have known and loved smooth hair free body parts since forever…
But is grooming a must for every man? The answer is that yes, every single guy should groom his body hair. Don’t think you get out this by saying you’re not a metrosexual. Grooming is for every single guy!
When it comes to chests, I’m sorry to say that men are just not nearly artistic or meticulous enough to manage an area of that size. Even if they try their hand at shaving the area this can only lead to ingrown hairs, itchy red patches and a host of other embarrassing things.
Save the tweed look for your sports jackets, and not for your skin!
SO, MEN, LISTEN UP: Just call a laser hair removal center, book an appointment and get your chest lasered. One treatment will not make you permanently hairless, but it will noticeably reduce the amount of hair that grows back. In a few weeks when some hair grows back it will look better, and you might not need to get lasered again.
However, if you want a more ‘Swedish’ hairless look you’ll have to complete a few more sessions.

Most guys can barely keep up with the day-in day-out responsibility of the stuff growing above their neck. Can we really expect you to stretch that to your body hair grooming? Nope. That’s why they need a permanent solution. With facial hair they can get away with some scruff, but who wants to see chest stubble? Armpit stubble? Yeah, nobody. Laser it baby.
Signing off,
xxx Laser Gal

Does shaving cause your hair to grow back faster? I’ve heard this by a few people.

Shaving hair does not cause it to regrow any faster or thicker. Shortened new hair growth arises from the follicle as stubble, which feels tough and coarse because it’s extremely short, and because it’s got a flat razor cut tip. This is misconstrued as thicker hair. Upon growing to a longer length the hair density appearance nomalizes.
Laser hair removal is safe and effective in all skin types with the proper laser and an experienced practicioner.

Male laser hair removal can be embarassing topic. I mean, it’s not exactly ‘normal’ for a hetero guy to walk into a frou frou spa and get a chest waxing. I had the treatments a year ago, but mine were IPL, not laser treatments. I only figured out that lasers are better a few months ago after hair started to grow back. I wanted to give a special thanks to Joe at Assara for explaining to me the differences between IPL and lasers.

Roland, did you get the laser treatments? How did they compare to the IPL? What did you like more? Thanks in advance.

Hi John Paul,
I did end up getting the laser treatments (from Assara actually) and I have to say that I am very happy with the results. I found that the IPL results were not nearly as good as laser, either in effectiveness or overall cost. For all my future treatments, I am definitely sticking with laser.
