I have a life, I swear! I don’t spend my nights reading scientific studies but this story was really interesting so I have to pass it on. It seems that a bunch of lab scientists have found that women’s understanding of the cost of personal care (including hair removal) is way off.
The study evaluated women’s beliefs and preferences on personal grooming and how they deal with unwanted body hair.
The majority of responders identified laser hair removal as the preferred choice for dealing with unwanted body hair. But only a tiny proportion of the women actually use it.
The obvious reason women dream of laser hair removal by night and reach for shavers by day is because women think laser hair removal is too pricey.
When the women were asked to rank methods of hair removal according to perceived cost most women identified laser hair removal as being the most expensive. Sorry ladies! You’re wrong! The most expensive form of hair removal is actually regular shaving.
Laser hair removal is the least expensive and most effective long-term treatment for unwanted body hair. That means that when you complete your laser hair removal treatment, you are forever rid of unwanted hair. Compare that to the cost razor blades, creams and other shaving accessories over several years and you’re in the range of fees associated with laser treatments. And since waxing and shaving must be repeated indefinitely, the cost benefits of laser hair removal quickly become self-evident.
Oh and one more kicker… 97% of the women who had laser hair removal reported being ‘very satisfied’ with the results.
If you weren’t ready to kick the shaving and waxing habit before this might just sway you… Think about that next time you’re buying shaving cream or booking your waxing appointment.

I am party of the 97% at the end who are very satisfied with laser hair emoval results. I had my underarms and bikini done last winter and now I’m hair free. It took a few treatments and was a tiny bit painful but was not nerly as expensive as I thought it would be. And Man oh man has it paid off!

So funny that the price of laser hair removal is what keeps people away! For me it was the fear of the pain. I wasn’T bothered by spending the money to NEVER have to do hair rmeoval again, it was the pain that scared me. I mean, pointing a hot laser at my bikini? etc… scaaaary! but it’s so not that way, that’s just what everyone thinks… this study proves that. Anyway, it’s not nearly as painful as I thought and the cost went down drastically in the last year. I am personally going to Assara for my bikini lasergin and I’m, malmost done my treatments. Very happy with the results. My hair almost doesnt grow back!

I hope this has given you a better idea of what to expect when you begin your price shopping. Most of these places will price match and if you do your homework you could save yourself a ton of money. Make sure to check out any kind of specials that are being run and also keep in mind that many of the treatment centers offer financing. If you plan to finance make sure that you understand the terms and conditions of your agreement. You would hate to be locked into something that was not what you had in mind. I would definitely recommend saving for your first treatment to make sure that you are getting the kinds of results that you expect before you make a huge commitment.

I read the article about hair removal and had a question. Will this laser hair removal technique work on mens’ backs? I am so tired of looking like a gorilla and wanted to know if any men have had this procedure done? If so, what are the costs involved? Thanks!
