Hey Y’all,
Sometimes new trends take some “getting used to.” I think everyone was shocked when Ray Ban Wayfarers crept back into cool. And what about Ughs, empire-waist skirts, and, now, plaid shirts? Just when I threw out my last preppy skirt and lumberjack plaid shirt… they’re back in style and being sold in every store in SoHo.
And now . . . wait for it . . . according to BlackBook Mag, men in short-shorts is the latest trend.

This seems like it could be the latest mainstream adaptation from the hipster style — you know, the “Alt” guys who live and die in the confusion of “struggling to create their own personal brand.” Will milky-white hairy male thighs hit 5th Avenue before Winter?
Are men in short shorts a good idea? My surprising answer is that this could be a better trend for men than women. How many times have I seen girls with cellulite-laden jiggle thighs wearing teeny tiny short shorts? Bad news. In general men have smoother, leaner thighs with less jiggle. So short shorts *could* be good for guys . . . if they do appropriate leg-hair man-grooming. (Has anyone out there used the “mangroomer” yet?)
I never thought men should have hair-free legs until I met my current man. He did two laser hair removal sessions, rather than a full six sessions, his legs so the hair would merely thin out and be less coarse. The result is pretty perfect, IMHO. I doubt my guy would wear short shorts, and honestly, I hope he never does. But even if he’s not rocking the tiny shorts, he still shows his legs at the pool and wouldn’t be caught dead with an animal-like hairy body.
Men should not shave their legs . . . . Men should not trim their leg hair, they should not wax their legs either. Doing any of this will leave red bumps, ingrown hairs, and scars, which can be very difficult to remedy, a fate far worse than merely being hairy!
So guys, just a touch of lasering might be best if you’re considering short shorts. Hurry up because it’s getting cold out !!
